In 2025, Beck Legal was proud to provide pro bono legal services to the Bendigo Winter Night Shelter (BWNS), an organisation dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness during the coldest months in our region. The Beck Legal Community Fund, alongside the incredible contributions of other businesses and donors, helped the staff and volunteers of BWNS achieved a breakthrough year.
The combined contributions made a tangible difference:
- 54 individuals experiencing homelessness received care
- 1,000 nights of accommodation were provided
- 2,000 meals served to those in need
- The season was extended for the first time until September 14, beyond the usual August 31 finish
- Operations ran seven days a week, offering consistent support
- BWNS welcomed the largest number of guests and total stays ever
- A shower truck operated year-round, improving dignity and wellbeing
- A dedicated Volunteer Coordinator was employed
- Community and business support reached new heights
These milestones reflect the power of collaboration. At Beck Legal, we are proud to stand alongside financial contributors and local businesses who provided goods and services to make this possible. BWNS is more than a shelter—it’s a lifeline, offering warmth, meals, a safe place to sleep and hope when it’s needed most.
